Green Tea Regular is our most beloved everyday green — picked from the highest-altitude gardens in Darjeeling’s Sungma estate, where cool mists roll in each dawn and slow the leaves just enough to build a depth that flat-valley teas never achieve.

This is a first-flush harvest, gathered in early spring before the monsoon arrives. First-flush greens are lighter and more delicate than later pickings: expect a clean, vegetal sweetness with a hint of fresh peas and a whisper of jasmine that opens as the cup cools.

We process each batch within hours of picking using traditional pan-firing to lock in the bright color and suppress oxidation — keeping every sip as close to the living leaf as possible.

How to brew

Heat your water — Bring water to 75–80°C. Avoid boiling — high heat scalds green leaves and turns the cup bitter.
Measure your leaves — Use 2g of leaves per 150ml of water (roughly one level teaspoon). Adjust to taste after your first brew.
Steep — Steep for 2–3 minutes. These leaves can go a second and third round — add 30 seconds per re-steep.
Serve — Pour and enjoy without milk. A small piece of dark chocolate alongside is an unexpected pairing that works beautifully.

From the garden

Sungma Tea Estate sits above the valley fog at nearly 1,800 metres. Run by the same family for four generations, the garden practices shade-grown cultivation and uses no synthetic pesticides. Slow growth at altitude concentrates flavor compounds and produces leaves with notably higher L-theanine — the amino acid responsible for green tea’s calm, focused energy without jitters. Every lot we source is third-party tested for purity and certified organic by the Tea Board of India.
